“What If We Let Go Of The Striving?”
What if we stopped trying? Trying to be better. Trying to be more. Trying to be perfect.
What if we just accepted who we are and started trusting that in time, we will become all that we were meant to be?
Danielle LaPorte speaks on this idea in a conversation with Lewis Howes. She explained how sick she was of her constant obsession to improve, to sign up for workshops, to get help and “fix herself” until she had this epiphany:
“What if you let go of the striving? I am not broken, I'm not flawed. I don't need to be fixed. I need to be loved, I need to be celebrated.”
Self-improvement is important, but it can go too far. I also had a similar journey to Danielle LaPorte, I was sick of everything in the Self-development world. I want to breathe. To become. As easily and as effortlessly as any other living thing.
I highly recommend listening to this interview and diving deep into all of Danielle LaPorte’s work. But remember to breathe and that you do not need to do anything special in order to improve.
Warmly,
Nihel
